Testing the varying water quality at Carss Park
aim: to test the water quality at Carss Park by looking at the pH water levels
Variable:
*Independent:
- the water
- incorrectly collected samples
*Dependant
- the affected water
Materials:
*12 pH testers
*12 plastic cups
Method:
1. Collect materials
2. Choose areas to be tested
3. Collect samples from area1
4. Add the dye, leave sample for five minutes
5. Match the adjusted water to the key
6. Repeat steps 3 through to 5 with areas 2, 3 and 4
7. Collate all information

Experiment:
To document the effects of different paced music to a persons running ability.
Variables:
· Independent
o Before-hand running capabilities
o Humidity
o Type of music being listened to (volume)
o Food consumption before running
· Dependant
o Speed
o Breathlessness
Plan:
1. Measure distance around Carss Park Oval.
2. Divide 30 people into two groups.
3. Group 1 runs around oval to a slow paced song.
· During all laps music is to be kept at a medium similar level
4. After groups 1 finishes lap, group two begin to the sam song.
5. When group 2 finishes group 1 will begin again with a medium paced song.
6. Group two will do the same with the same song
7. Group 1 will do their last lap with a fast paced song.
8. Group two will do the same.
9. All results are recorded and compared.

- Possibly a white tiled bathroom
- Need approximately thirty people to test experiment on
- Take people in rotation
- Take the person into the allocated area, then flash fluorescent light onto a white paper/tile. Person is to stare at the light for approximately 4 minutes.
- Turn off fluorescent light and flash white light.
- Ask person the change in colour of surroundings, feelings of nausea or any other changes in health or emotion
- Record result.
- Independent
- The change in eyesight
- Any physical or emotional changes
- Dependent
- The difference in eyesight of different people
- The effects of short sighted person verses and long sighted person
