Experiment Plan

    Experiment

    To record the effects of fluorescent lighting on eyesight

    Equipment

  1. 3 types of fluorescent lights
    • Red
    • Blue-person
    • Green
  2. One white light
    • Torch
  3. A white room
    • Possibly a white tiled bathroom

    Plan

  4. Need approximately thirty people to test experiment on
  5. Take people in rotation
  6. Take the person into the allocated area, then flash fluorescent light onto a white paper/tile. Person is to stare at the light for approximately 4 minutes.
  7. Turn off fluorescent light and flash white light.
  8. Ask person the change in colour of surroundings, feelings of nausea or any other changes in health or emotion
  9. Record result.
  10. Variables

  11. Independent
    • The change in eyesight
    • Any physical or emotional changes
  12. Dependent
    • The difference in eyesight of different people
      • The effects of short sighted person verses and long sighted person
      • Health prior to the experiment

  1. Anisha, whilst this sounds like a great idea, I worry about the fact that there are faaaar too many variables for you to control. People based experiments need to be extremely rigourously controlled, and it doesn't sound like you have that.

    Can you try and come up with something else?
